If you want something that prints faster and has better scanning features, go with the Epson, but if you want a printer that uses a supertank for exceptional page yields, go with the Canon. It's an all-in-one supertank that uses four refillable ink tanks instead of disposable cartridges, resulting in exceptionally high page yields at a very low cost-per-print.
It has a great printing speed, with the first black page coming out fairly fast and subsequent pages even faster. It has exceptional scanner features, including a high-resolution flatbed scanner and an ADF that supports duplex scanning. Unfortunately, its photo printing quality and color accuracy are only decent. However, this should be enough for casual photos and color printing, but it may not be good enough for those needing higher quality or exact color reproduction for professional use.
That said, this is an incredible printer for office use, and it's one of the best small business printers we've tested. This all-in-one model doesn't yield as many pages as the Canon MAXIFY GX , and its cost-per-print isn't nearly as low, but it uses laser technology to print and is much cheaper upfront.
It prints fast, although black text documents take a bit more time than color documents. Also, it produces photos surprisingly detailed for a laser printer, and its color accuracy is great, but it's still not good enough for exact color reproduction. It's a monochrome printer with an incredibly high black page yield and low cost-per-print, making it an outstanding choice if you frequently print in black and white. Unfortunately, while it has great scanner features, its flatbed resolution is maxed at DPI, but this should be fine for most office uses.
Since it's a monochrome laser model, it can't print in color, and it isn't meant to print photos, so images look washed out and lacking detail. Overall, this is a fantastic model if you're looking for a printer to print in black and white that supports Apple AirPrint.
This all-in-one inkjet model produces excellent-looking pictures that are detailed and have no banding, and colors are vibrant and acceptably accurate-looking. It prints 4" x 6" photos decently fast, although full-size color pages and black-only documents take much longer. There's a flatbed scanner with high resolution and color depth suitable for scanning images, and there's also an automatic document feeder to quickly process multi-page documents.
You can also use the mobile app to scan, print, and copy. Unfortunately, despite being marketed as a home office printer, it doesn't yield nearly as many pages as other office options.
